Room for Everyone
There are three rows in the Highlander, and the third row is perfect for kids. With 28 inches of legroom, 36.1 inches of headroom, 45.6 inches of hip room, and 55 inches of shoulder room, your little ones will be nicely accommodated.
The second and third rows have plenty of space for adults, with 42 and 38.7 inches of legroom in the first and second rows respectively. There are also close to 60 inches of shoulder room and hip room in each of those rows. The first row has 41.2 inches of headroom, and the second row has 39.4 inches of it.
Muscle for Towing
If you have moderate towing needs, then the Highlander can help. The hybrid models can tow up to 3,500 pounds, while the slightly stronger gasoline models can handle up to 5,000 pounds. All trims have Trailer-Sway Control to help you feel more secure while towing.
Safety Everywhere You Go
The Highlander has a Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. It also has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+. The latter consists of a group of safety features including Road Sign Assist and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist. There are six safety features in Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ in total.
The Highlander also has the Star Safety System. The features included in this safety system vary depending on the trim. Some trims have Electronically Controlled Braking, while others don’t. All trims have Star Safety System features such as Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, and Electronic Brake-Force Distribution.
Great Standard Comfort
The first and second-row seats in the first two trims are fabric-trimmed, and the driver has an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. Other trims offer even more adjustability and comfort. For example, the XLE has a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with power lumbar support. It also has an 8-way power-adjustable front passenger seat. The base trim is already incredibly comfortable, and the trims get even better as you go up through them.
