1. NRCA Summer Sounds Concert Series

The annual free NRCA Summer Sounds Concert Series at the Hudson Park Bandshell at 1 Hudson Park Road in New Rochelle is the signature event of the New Rochelle Council on the Arts. Picnickers gather on the lawn in front of the bandshell every Wednesday through July and August at 7:30 p.m. to enjoy live music, the cool breeze from Long Island Sound, and the scenic views over the Hudson River.

Musicians perform music across various genres, from jazz and bluegrass to rock and classical opera. Join the free yoga sessions before the show and grab a bite to eat from one of the many food trucks before the music starts. 

2. Summer Sizzle

The Summer Sizzle concert series at Ruby Dee Park Library Green at 1 Library Plaza in New Rochelle from May 27 to September 30, between 5 and 9 p.m., will surprise you every Saturday night. Put on your dancing shoes, bring your blanket and picnic basket, and get comfy on the lawn with neighbors and friends to watch excellent musical performances throughout the summer season.

Listen to the sounds of Soulshine, an Allman Brothers tribute band, salsa and mambo by Tito Puente JR., and a tribute to the Boss by the B Street Band, to name a few of the musicians and bands performing. Don’t miss the vibrant Festival de Mexico on August 26, bringing lively Mariachi and Tejano music to the stage.

3. The Lighted Boat Parade

On July 29, head to Hudson Park at 1 Hudson Park Road or Neptune Park on Fort Slocum Road for the spectacular annual Lighted Boat Parade through New Rochelle Harbor at 8:30 p.m. Enjoy a magical, warm evening on the edge of the water watching all the beautifully illuminated boats, from skiffs to cruisers float along the Hudson River. 

4. Summer Fun Fridays

Join the summer festivities at Flowers City Park on Fifth and Potter Avenue in New Rochelle for two exciting Summer Fun Fridays on July 28 and August 11. These free events are perfect for families with kids who want to spend time together having fun.

The festivities start at 6 p.m. with exciting field games, great music, and a Bubble Bus Party on July 28. Don’t miss out on the fun-filled Glow in the Dark Party on August 11, which promises to be an excellent time for everyone!
